The room was comfortable & clean , the facilities adequate and the breakfast in the lovely lounge proved to be a great start to each day we spent in Darj. We must mention the ever-friendly front office staff….Anita & Ongmu and the unobstrusive but very efficient and well-mannered ways of Samuel.
For me it was like returning home….as I was a student in Loreto many years back.Did visit school and it was an emotional trip down memory lane. Was also good to meet up with Sonam at the restaurant….charming hospitality coupled withn some delightful food & drinks!
We have recommended Shangrila to many of our friends as it is truly a ‘Home away from home’ and great value for money.

We arrived last evening at Chennai after completing a memorable wonderful stay in your hotel for 5 days. I am hereby giving my experiences .
“We checked in late on 28th of september 2009[ Vijaya Dasami Day]. Room was just fantastic, with all untra modern facilities.Despite the fact that all the hotels were closed on that day, we were provided excellent dinner on the day of arrival.The room service attendant Mr Sunil was very courteous in his approach to us through out. His smiling way of serving me and my family gave me the feel at home each and every moment of my stay .Excellent quality of food provided to us during breakfast and dinner is worth mentioning an appreciation.
The receptionist Ms. Anitha was courteous as well. Her smiling gesture of approach and answering all our queries was really appreciatiable.
Also apreciatable is the driver Mr. Pema and Mr. Kiran, who took us around darjeeling with their courteous behaviour.
Hats off to you Mr. Ranjan for establishing such a dream hotel in the queen of hill stations
To sum up, I would tell that This hotel is worth much much more than its price. I strongly recommend this to any one who plans a trip to Darjeeling.”

Shangrila Regency, the hotel surely lived upto our expectations, good interiors, nice view, great ambience and friendly staff. We visited in Dec 2008, and it was a large contingent of 14 adults plus 3 kids, all below 5 years. sure the size of the group n the kids insured there was a bit of chaos at times but certainly all in good humour. Would recommend the place to family n friend because it’s worth every penny spent and we have happy memories
about it.

We are back home in Saint Louis, USA and we sincerely thank you and all your staff for maintaining such a lovable establishment and giving us such a good stay in Darjeeling. We had a wonderful time during our stay. Specially would like to mention and thank Kumar (our driver) whose recommendation led us to do rafting on Tista river and yesterday when I asked my daughter Tista and son Taj what was the one most memorable aspect of our trip to India they unanimously said it was the rafting. Nima our room boy also was very helpful.
We stayed in room 503 & 502 (adjoining rooms) on fifth floor and the view was simply ‘the best’. We were exceptionally lucky to have clear view of the entire snow peak range for the entire 4 days of our stay from dawn to dusk. As I browse through the photos I am already thinking that I might have gotten some photos that may very well rank amongst our lifetime bests alongside photos from some of our memorable prior trips Alaska, Canadian Rockies and Switzerland to name a few.
Darjeeling has always been a special place in my heart because of my childhood spent there. Visiting after 14 long years I was relieved that inspite of the congestion et all her beauty and glory as the ‘queen of hill stations’ is still unmatched. Thanks for making the same impact in the mind of my kids.
I pray that the people of Darjeeling, as peace loving as they always are, find the political peace they are in search of.
Hope that I can visit Darjeeling again and be able to stay with you again. Love to and definitely will recommend your hotel to everybody.

Well what can I say. It was more than what we expected. We arrived late but the staff at the hotel was very much co-operative to adjust and accomodate to our late arrival. We had been in off season so we were in our room most of the time but the service and privacy we had is really appericable and kumar our driver from NJP to hotel was a nice guy. We had a lovely time & will recommend Shangrila Regency to our friend & family. If we visit again Shangrila Regency will definately be our choice of hotel to stay in darjeeling. We have recently returned from our trip in India and I wanted to take the time to write to you and say how much we enjoyed our stay at the Shangri-La Regency in Darjeeling. On our very first morning we were lucky to catch a glimpse of Katchenjunga from the breakfast room; after that the mists covered the mountains for days! For us it was like an omen. Our 5th floor room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the stair climbing to get acclimatized to the Hills. All of your staff are friendly and efficient. Say Hello to Anita and everyone else. Your driver, Dhurba Rai, in particular, was extremely helpful. His driving skills are matched by his good company and conversation. We would definitely stay at the Shangri-La next time we visit your delightful town. Daniebad and Tashi Delek.
Everyday we remember the nice time we have in Darjeeling. We also don’t forget Kavi with the habitual attention, the tea on the room and the hot water bottle. For us, Shangri-la Regency is our home in Darjeeling. Warm regards for you and the Shangri-la Regency team.

It was a very nice blending of experiences of hospitality and warm accommodation at your hotel during some of the coldest days in the month of January, 2008. I am particularly really satisfied with the hygine maintained in every aspects. The boy with a surname Thapa served everything to us from complimentary bed tea and breakfast to evening snacks and Dinner with always smiling face even in an odd hours. The rooms are well lit and we even saw the peaks of Kanchenjungha from our Dbl dlx room itself. The car and the driver for our sight seeing was very nice. First of all, thank you so much for you and your team for providing us a royal service during our honeymoon. I visited so many countries and stayed in all the famous chain of hotels, but the service what I get in your hotel is at par with the service in any other hotels in the world. The salient features I observed and enjoyed are:
1) No Follow-up required after I booked the room and paid the advance. On 16 March, I sent the last mail and not sent any mail about my arrival. But the car and my room was ready.
2) On the First day of my arrival, your manager fixed the plan after a short discussion with me and the plan went very well without any change.
3) Picnic Lunch to Mirik lake was excellent. I am sure the photos taken during my lunch was one of the memorable one.
4) Room service is very good and your team did a very good job.
I am very much happy that I had chosen Shangrila for my Honeymoon. No Hassles, No Change in Plans, No errors in service and more. Convey my special regards to your team for their good work. Continue your good service…!!!

Dear Ranjan, My husband and I are still reeling from our wonderful trip to India! We loved Darjeeling and wanted to let you know our stay at your hotel was great. Our waiter Kavhi, took especially good care of us. We came to rely on his prompt service at breakfast and those lovely hot water bottles at night. He is most gracious as was our driver, dhurba rai. Dhurba took us where we wanted to go and on the way back to Siligory he gave us a different route that was so beautiful. We came to think of him as our friend and enjoyed his company. We can not say enough about the adventures we had in Darjeeling and one day we will come back. Of course we will stay at the Shangri La!!

I am very much glad to say you that your hotel is awesome. Its really pleasure to pass few moments in your hotel. I think Shangrila Rgency is the best place for us to stay at in Darjeeling. My family is very satisfied with the service specially NIMA, he took so much care of us. My son was very happy with him, as when we left the hotel he was requesting me to bring Nima with us. The Dhurva our car driver his driving was so comfortable that when we reached Rock garden and Mirik we thought that only he can makes us unperturbed in that dreadful road. We stayed in your hotel from 11th Mar 07 to 14th Mar 07 in the Suite room number 301. We liked your service. All the waiters and staff are very good and your hotel is also well located.
We enjoyed our stay at the Shangrila Regency, particularly the services (bed tea, breakfast, evening turndown, evening meals) of Sonam who we found to be reliable, friendly and professional.
Just a note to say how much we enjoyed our stay at the Shangri-la-Regency recently. The room and the breakfast were ideal and the provision of hot water bottles was really appreciated. We found all the staff to be most helpful and polite and special mention must be made of Sonal who looked after us during our stay – please thank him for his help and attention to our needs. I hope you remember me. I booked your hotel for my honeymoon trip but was a bit worried as it was a totally new place for me and had done the booking without even having any prior knowledge about the hotel and the surroundings. But the moment I entered the hotel it was something absolutely fantastic. I don't know why but really liked your hotel. We never felt that we are somewhere out and living in a hotel. The meals provided were delicious and the service was of the highest standard, the dining room manager (in the hotel) was attentive and made sure everything was perfect. We were in Darjeeling on our Honeymoon and I could not have planned it better than choosing Shangrila Regency. The (boutique) hotel is just fantastic. The view from the top rooms is amazing. During my trip, it was very foggy, but for both of us, this was the best thing we could have got. The Room Service was excellent, especially BalRam. He was very prompt with his service. The car driver Vikram was also very good on our drives.
Enjoyed that extra bit, solely due to the stay at Shangrila.

We visited Darjeeling on May 28th 2006 and stayed till May 2nd 2006. It was my first visit and I am really happy that me and my husband chose this “Queen of hills†as our honeymoon destination.
We stayed at a boutique hotel “Shangri-la-regency†on Gandhi road and the service and the ambience there was wonderful. The window at room no 503 directly opens to give you a divine view of the worlds second highest peak “Kanchenjunghaâ€. Special thanx to our room service attender “KABIâ€, who was always available to us with his grinning face on just a ring away.
On another front apart from such romantic climate and ambience we had quite a bit of adventure as well when we went for “White water river rafting†on TEESTA and it became really unforgettable for us when we realized that my hubby had lost his finger ring while showing his superb swimming talent on TEESTA..hahahaha.
In a nutshell the whole experience to this “Queen of hills†was out of this world.
And last but not the least our thanx also goes to the Shangri-la-regency hotel management, the cab drivers Vikas, Bittu & Jugal who made all our trips to Tiger hill, Mirik and Kalimpong via TEESTA a truly Zig-Zag experience and we will definitely look forward to visit again.

The stay at hotel was very comfortable, great hotel. Services were excellent. Staff (Nima & Kavi) were very cooperative, always smiling. In short it was comfortable & memorable stay in Shangrila Regency.

The stay at Shangrila Regency was very comfortable and we were both satisfied with the service. The deluxe attic rooms were very cosy and the ambience inside the room was perfect for our honeymoon trip. The staff members were very well behaved & always had a smile in their face which rather made us felt cheered up. The views from the hotel room was very lively and the decor of the deluxe attic rooms with also the rooftop lounge and bar was very impressive and beautiful. I also liked the central location of the hotel. In all it had all the peaceful atmoshphere and love that we were looking for our honeymoon trip.
I would like to describe it in just words SIMPLY AMAZING.

I and my wife had a great time and it was really memorable on account of honeymoon. Right from the booking to the pick up and drop to services inside, it was just next to perfect. The driver was extremely prompt & friendly. The hotel staff was also very supportive. Thanks, Ranjan for all the correspondence, you never made it realize that you were far away across the seven seas. The hotel is positioned at a great place and I would recommend it highly.
We stayed in a double deluxe room and even had our own private balcony. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated and I loved the tibetan touch on the silk bedspread. Me and my partner were amazed at what good value the room was. More like 4 star hotel but nothing like the price! The staff were all friendly and helpful. The views from the roof top lounge are stunning – just like the ones on the website. Great stuff.
A pleasant experience. The hotel is centrally located and provides a scenic view from the room (#503). The heaters and hot water bottles supplied hardly make u realise the low temperatures outside. Extremely humble and sincere staff (especially our room attendants Nima and Mameeta are worth complementing) – a perfect example of ‘good team work’. The Complementary Breakfast was just too good (the ‘parathas’ being the most tempting!!!!) Worth recommending and would love to visit again!
It was simply great!!!. We loved every moment. The attic room 503 is good and offers a great view. Nima (The attendant staff) is great. He is so sweet and helpful. Will return soon.

It was a very good experience at your place. The receptionist and the crews there made us feel quite at home. The breakfast was very good and generous. The chills of the night was comforted by room heater and hot water bottles. The room attendant were very friendly and very eager to help. The hotel is right were the action is. The Mal was a small walk. We really enjoyed our stay and would visit again. I have talked about your place to all my friends. All friends want to visit your hotel.

Dear Ranjan, we had a great time in Darjeeling in December – the weather was clear and crisp and we enjoyed wandering around the streets and shops of the town. We were made very welcome at the Shangrila Regency and your staff are all friendly and efficient. The hot water bottles were very welcome. The views from the attic room and the guest lounge are unsurpassed. Our driver Moktan deserves special praise for his punctuality and driving skills – we used him for a Darjeeling tour, a trip to Kalimpong, Tiger Hill and return transfers to Bagdogra. Overall an excellent experience and we will not hesitate to recommend your hotel.
